Whether you're new to fantasy football this year or a seasoned veteran, you probably realize by now that preparation is key to victory. The best fantasy owners have handcuffs for stud running backs, backup plans for QBs, and a consistent blueprint for upcoming bye weeks. Our Week 10 waiver wire watchlist channels all those avenues of preparedne s and packages them into a concise lookahead list for each position, greatly increasing your odds of winning a league title.Yours truly has pinpointed studs before their breakouts all season, a big reason why most of my fantasy teams have enjoyed strong campaigns despite myriad injuries. Our lookahead watchlist has pointed readers in the direction of C.J. Stroud, Zack Mo s, and Puka Nacua when they were all under 50-percent rostered. Now, those guys look like league-winners not bad for speculative adds that cost $0 in FAAB and didn't use up a waiver priority. We've been telling you for weeks to make the most of your open roster spots or one of your opponents will. Try to anticipate who will be Week 10's top pickups after strong performances this weekend. Be proactive about your bye weeks and bad matchups by choosing your upcoming streamers now. By adding potential boom players as free agents before their breakouts, you find solid production without burning a valuable waiver claim or FAAB DeeJay Dallas Jersey money.WEEK 9 FANTASY ADVICE: | | | At this part of the season, we're all playing matchups each week, with many just limping from matchup to matchup due to injuries. If you're in that camp, it's smart to plan ahead and get your first choice before other owners jump into the frenzy once new information emerges. Our waiver wire watchlist helps you think about the future while the rest of your league is thinking about the present. Some shallower leagues don't feature enough roster spots to really take advantage of "planning ahead" but for those in leagues that do, our week-ahead watchlist will be helpful all year long. Even though you won't pick up most (or in some cases, all) of these players, it's at least worth watching their snap counts and target shares to file away for later.WEEK 9 DFS: | | | Reminder: This list was put together in the lead-in to Week 9, looking forward to the players who could be popular waiver wire targets ahead of Week 10. If you have a roster spot to play with, these are free agent options you could grab early to beat the waiver buzz. All these players are below 50 percentownership on Yahoo unle s otherwise specified. WEEK 10 BYES:Philadelphia Eagles, Kansas City Chiefs, Miami Dolphins, Los Angeles RamsBaker Mayfield, Buccaneers vs. Titans in Week 10 (38 percent rostered)Mayfield has battled some injuries and a couple of rough weeks, but he has also quietly posted 23.9 fantasy points per game (FPPG) over the past two weeks and 20.5 FPPG on the season. Now he gets two consecutive good matchups against the Texans in Week 9 and Titans in Week 10? Sign us up, baby.Quarterbacks have been dropping like flies this season. Even if you have a higher-upside QB, you might want to grab Baker as a high-floor backup. Look at the Bucs' schedule during the home stretch and playoffs from Week 12 through 16: @ Indy, vs. Carolina, @ Atlanta, @ Green Bay, vs. Jacksonville. Juicy!Bryce Young, Panthers @ Bears (14%)Young has endured some growing pains in his debut NFL season, there's no doubt about that, but in the right matchups, he still has enough upside to consider him if your regular QB is on bye or faces a tough defense. He has averaged 20.2 FPPG over Carolina's past three games! Now he draws a Week 10 matchup with the Bears, who have surrendered the third-most FPPG to QBs on the season. We would gladly roll with Young over fellow rookie QB C.J. Stroud at Cincinnati.MORE POTENTIAL WEEK 10 QB STREAMS:Taylor Heinicke, Falcons @ Cardinals (4%); Mac Jones, Patriots vs. Colts (11%); Gardner Minshew, Colts @ Patriots (22%)WEEK 9 PPR RANKINGS: | | | | | WEEK 10 BYES:Philadelphia Eagles, Kansas City Chiefs, Miami Dolphins, Los Angeles RamsZach Charbonnet, Seahawks (44 percent rostered)Charbonnet has been low-key awesome with his opportunities this season, most recently turning five carries into 53 yards and catching both of his targets for 11 yardsagainst the Browns. With second-year workhorse Kenneth Walker III nursing a calf injury since Week 7, Charbs' chances could continue to rise as the season progre ses.Don't get us wrong Charbonnet is by no means a must-start until he starts seeing double-digit touches. However, in this dynamic offense and behind an injury-prone RB1, he's at least a must-stash (not to be confused with my Halloween ).Devin Singletary, Texans (22%)We featured Singletary in this column last week, and apparently, only three percent of the nation listened. Now, Dameon Pierce is battling an that could sideline him for at least Houston's Week 9 matchup with the Buccaneers.A quick glimpse at Singletary's game lines shows you that he's seen double-digit carries and 12-plus opportunities in each of the Texans' past two games, and DeMeco Ryans' squad has a fantastic schedule for RBs the rest of the way (including the Panthers, Cardinals, Broncos, and Jets). Pick this man up!Leonard Fournette, Bills (25%)We're not so sure why Sean McDermott and Ken Dorsey refuse to give second-year back James Cook more than 14 carries per game, but we're also not interested in ditching our journalism jobs to become psychologists. All we know is that Damien Harris (neck) is on IR, Latavius Murray has nine carries combined acro s Buffalo's past two games, and Cook's usage and ensuing production have been underwhelming. Fournette getting added to one of the better offenses midway through the season makes him a must-add in deep leagues by proxy.MORE POTENTIAL RB PICKUPS:Emari Demercado, Cardinals (50%); Justice Hill, Ravens (38%); Roschon Johnson, Bears (47%); Royce Freeman, Rams (24%); Ezekiel Elliott, Patriots (45%); Antonio Gibson, Commanders (46%); Pierre Strong, Browns (7%); Craig Reynolds, Lions (5%)WEEK 9 STANDARD RANKINGS: | | | | | WEEK 10 BYES:Philadelphia Eagles, Kansas City Chiefs, Miami Dolphins, Los Angeles RamsRashid Shaheed, Saints (47 percent rostered)We all thought Derek Carr would develop a rapport with stud Saints wideout Chris Olave in his first season in New Orleans, but the veteran seems to have more of a connection with the older, more experienced Shaheed. It's not all that surprising, when you think about it Shaheed is 25, he has 4.3 speed, and he rarely lets balls bounce off his helmet like Olave did last week. With matchups against the Bears this week and Vikings next week, don't expect this dude to be rostered in fewer than half of all leagues for much longer.Demario Douglas, Patriots (15%)Injury got added to a season-long insult in New England when Kendrick Bourne tore his ACL in the Pats' Week 8 lo s to the Dolphins. Many a sume Bourne's absence will lead to an immediate boost in the targets and production of JuJu Smith-Schuster, but we think Douglas serves as a much better add to make right here and right now. This guy has caught nine-of-13 targets over the past two weeks and totaled 103 all-purpose yards in that span. It's a below-average Jacob Eason Jersey offense, sure, but wouldn't you rather stream the newly minted WR1 in a mediocre offense than the WR4 in an above-average offense?Jayden Reed, Packers (19%)Reed has flown under the radar in his rookie season, mostly because Jordan Love and the Packers have been le s than stellar in Green Bay's first post-Rodgers campaign. He's quick off the line, runs crisp routes, and he has explosive speed once the ball is in his hands. He has quietly posted PPR scores of 10.5 or more in three of the Pack's past four games, so he should be owned in all 12-team leagues at the very least.MORE POTENTIAL WR PICKUPS:Brandin Cooks, Cowboys (44%); Curtis Samuel, Commanders (42%); Zay Jones, Jaguars (21%); Quentin Johnston, Chargers (20%); JuJu Smith-Schuster, Patriots (19%); Donovan Peoples-Jones, Lions (5%)WEEK 10 BYES:Philadelphia Eagles, Kansas City Chiefs, Miami Dolphins, Los Angeles RamsTrey McBride, Cardinals vs. Falcons in Week 10 (57 percent rostered)People apparently love to hate on the Cardinals because McBride has been verygood as of late, and he's still just barely over 55-percent rostered. We had to include him on the list because the tight-end landscape has been a barren wasteland of historic proportions, and people have apparently just given up on the notion of improving at the position.Look at this dude's numbers with Josh friggin' Dobbs last week: 10 catches on 14 targets for 95 yards and a TD. Do you think his production will fall off a cliff with Kyler Murray (knee) returning from IR and Zach Ertz (quad) on IR? Pick this guy up! We told you to roster Taysom Hill last week Sidney Jones IV Jersey and he exploded for 22 points. Stick with us and you'll do just fine, kids.Gerald Everett (24%) and Donald Parham Jr. (5%), Chargers vs. LionsEverett (hip) is banged up and will be IR-eligible if and when he's declared out in Week 9, so consider stashing him and then using the freshly vacated roster spot to stream Parham Jr. against the Lions. Detroit has been one of the most generous defenses in fantasy land when it comes to defending tight ends, allowing the third-most FPPG in the NFL to the position.Parham has already taken on a larger role with Mike Williams (knee) injured and Josh Palmer dinged up. He caught four-of-five targets for 43 yards and a tuddie last week, and he should be active this weekend against a Jets' defense that also struggles to defend TEs. Get out ahead of this one and monopolize the Bolts' tight end room.MORE POTENTIAL WEEK 10 TE STREAMS:Hunter Henry, Patriots vs. Colts (30%); Michael Mayer, Raiders vs. Jets (14%); Daniel Bellinger, Giants vs. Cowboys (1%)WEEK 10 BYES:Philadelphia Eagles, Kansas City Chiefs, Miami Dolphins, Los Angeles RamsSeattle Seahawks vs. Commanders in Week 10 (50 percent rostered)The Seahawks have been one of the more underrated defenses this season, so a home date with the me sy Commanders should produce strong results. No QB in the NFL has taken more sacks than Sam Howell, and Washington's 12 turnovers just serve as icing on the cake.New England Patriots vs. Colts (43%)It has largely been a forgettable season in New England, but Bill Belichick can still scheme that injury-ravaged Pats into a positive defensive game against below-average pa sing offenses. Gardner Minshew should see plenty of pre sure and make plenty of mistakes in a cold-weather, early-November game in Foxboro.Las Vegas Raiders vs. Jets (38%)The Raiders probably feel like a squad you should avoid at all costs right now, but defenses have been known to step up after the terminations of their awful head coaches. Also, it's important to remember that Zach Wilson is the quarterback of the Jets. There's enough upside to merit a stream if you have the 49ers and/or Lions on bye.Atlanta Falcons @ Cardinals (34%)We've been saying it all year the Falcons are not all that bad a defense. Arthur Smith's goober level remains unprecedented when it comes to offensive decisions, but the Dirty Birds can rush the pocket and force bad throws. Grady Jarrett's torn ACL hurts Atlanta's sack upside, but we still think former Cardinal Calais Campbell and company can register quite a few QB take-downs on either Kyler Murray or Clayton Tune.Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Titans (30%)The Buccaneers have been on-again, off-again good on defense this season, but we like their upside against Will Levis once the rookie has a few games under his belt. Will the Thrill looked great in his Week 8 debut, but a quick tape breakdown reveals that Tenne see ran play-action on 50 percent of snaps. That's not a sustainable offensive strategy against high-upside front-sevens.Cincinnati Bengals vs. Texans (27%)The Bengals have improved substantially on all three defensive levels this season, and they've practically become a must-add D/ST. They have scored 37 standard fantasy points over their past three games, making otherwise-strong offenses like the Seahawks and 49ers look bad in the proce s. Houston has improved offensively, as well, but C.J. Stroud still gets forced into plenty of mistakes under pre sure. Cincy also has Pittsburgh twice, Indy, and Minnesota among its second-half matchups, so grab the Bengals while you still can.
